Key responsibilities:

• Development and implementation of the Eurodesk work programme;

Requirements:

• Relevant work experience, including at least 3 years of managerial experience;
• Relevant university degree or diploma;
• Financial management skills, experience with public funding would be an asset;
• Proven knowledge of the European Policy area, European Youth policy and European programmes for young people;
• Experience in managing European projects/campaigns would be an advantage;
• Strong analytical and research skills;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation and moderation skills;
• Network management skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds;
• Experience in organisational development;
• Understanding of youth issues;
• Thorough understanding of new Information and communication technologies;

The Heinrich Böll Foundation grants scholarships to approximately 1,000 undergraduates, graduates, and doctoral students of all subjects and nationalities per year, who are pursuing their degree at universities, universities of applied sciences (‘Fachhochschulen’), or universities of the arts (‘Kunsthochschulen’). We expect our scholarship recipients to have excellent academic records, to be socially and politically engaged, and to have an active interest in the basic values of the foundation: ecology and sustainability, democracy and human rights, self determination and justice.

Becas - 4 participantes para el Proyecto PLUS (Politicians Listening to Us) - Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo

La Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo selecciona a los cuatro participantes de España que integrarán el grupo de trabajo del proyecto PLUS (Politicians Listening to Us).

Este proyecto se enmarca en el programa europeo Erasmus+ y cuenta con un consorcio integrado por 10 países de la zona euromediterránea. Las becas van dirigidas a jóvenes de entre 20 y 30 años de nacionalidad española, con conocimiento de inglés y  motivados en participar en un proyecto de carácter internacional donde se abordarán las medidas políticas que apoyan el crecimiento de la economía social.

El plazo de presentación de solicitudes, que en las bases aparecía hasta el 4 de diciembre, se ha ampliado hasta el 18 de este mismo mes.

Project proposal - Interreg Med, Defining Fishing protected areas and fish stock - (Very urgent)

I'm helping Miguel Soares to develop a project application for the Interreg Med funding:

The project proposal is almost ready, but unfortunatelly the partner from Spain dropped out today, thus we are searching for an alternative one. The deadline is very short (2nd Nov) and we're urgently looking for an entity (public, private, NGO or research) willing to step in and work with fishermen in Spain (on one selected site). Below is a short abstract of the project:

Defining Fishing protected areas and fish stock recovery areas has been repeatedly proven as one of the most important practice in sustainable fisheries. Here, we propose to create a collaborative platform and to establish a transnational, integrative and transdisciplinary Mediterranean network to redefine the paradigms of sustainable fishery management. Specifically, we intend to develop a bottom-up approach that would implement both the fishermen local ecological knowledge and cutting edge scientific evolutionary genomics approaches to provide the insight in fisheries population connectivity and adaptation at the deepest resolution possible nowadays. This knowledge is of crucial importance for defining marine protected areas relevant for fishery management. Involvement of fishery stakeholders and local fishing communities, NGOs, and scientists steeming from the fishery, social and evolutionary sciences into this multilog, along with joined development of working platform ensures full commitment of all of the interested parties. Therefore this project develops tools to bridge substantial existing knowledge and communication gaps in the fishery management and thus extensively contributes to the sustainability of Mediterranean fisheries.

The project application is nearly completed and a number of partners from the Mediterranean countries involved. But there is still a chance to discuss a more detailed input from the Spanish partner. SEMINARIO DE LANZAMIENTO DEL PROGRAMA INTERREG ESPAÑA-PORTUGAL 2014-2020 Y DÍA DE LA COOPERACIÓN EUROPEA 2015

El Programa INTERREG V-A ESPAÑA–PORTUGAL (POCTEP) 2014–2020 organiza el próximo día 23 de septiembre de 2015 un Seminario de lanzamiento y de presentación de la primera convocatoria, en el Centro de Artes do Espectáculo de Portalegre (Portugal).

El programa del seminario se centrará en presentar:

• el Programa 2014-2020 y sus objetivos;
• las Bases la 1ª convocatoria;
• el procedimiento de presentación de candidaturas;
• los criterios de evaluación de las operaciones a financiar;
• las estructuras de gestión y los contactos a nivel nacional, regional o local que pueden facilitar información sobre el Programa.

Durante todo el Seminario estará disponible el espacio de la “Bolsa de Proyectos”, donde los participantes podrán presentar y consultar fichas de “propuestas de proyectos”. Esta herramienta de ayuda para la búsqueda y adhesión de nuevos socios de proyectos transfronterizos está disponible online en el apartado “Interreg 2014-2020 > Convocatorias”.

Asimismo, cabe la posibilidad de acompañar el seminario en directo, a través de transmisión en live streaming, desde la página web del Programa www.poctep.eu

Este evento también se enmarca dentro de la celebración del Día de la Cooperación Europea (EC DAY) 2015, iniciativa promovida por INTERACT con el apoyo de la Comisión Europea, que celebra este año su cuarta edición. Prácticas - Traineeship in Committee of the Regions (CoR)

Every year, the Committee of the Regions (CoR) offers a limited number of university graduates a five-month traineeship:

• from 16 February to 15 July (spring session);
• from 16 September to 15 February of the following year (autumn session).

Each trainee is assigned to a specific department of the CoR. The nature of the work depends largely on the unit. Some units are more politically oriented, others are more administrative. In general, the type of work assigned is equivalent to that performed by junior executive-grade officials (AD5).

The aim of the traineeship within the CoR is:

• to provide a unique, first-hand experience of the workings of the CoR in particular, and of the EU institutions in general;
• to acquire practical experience and knowledge of the day-to-day work of the Committee's departments;
• to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment;
• you will have the opportunity to organise a study visit to a European local or regional authority, in connection with the Committee’s political priorities;
• to put into practice knowledge acquired during studies, particularly in your areas of competence.

Admission criteria

To apply for a traineeship at the CoR, a number of basic requirements must be fulfilled.

Applicants must:

• be a national of one of the Member States of the European Union or of a State which is an official candidate for accession;
• have completed at least the first cycle of a higher education course and obtained a full degree by the closing date for applications;
• have a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another EU-working language (French or English).

Important notice

1. In order to enable as many European citizens as possible to familiarize themselves with the European institutions, no application shall be accepted from any person who has already received more than eight weeks of any kind of in-service training (formal or informal, paid or unpaid) within a European institution or body [2], or who has been in any kind of employment within a European institution or body, including anyone who is or has been an assistant to a Member of the European Parliament, an intramural consultant or researcher, a temporary staff member, a contract staff member, an auxiliary staff member or an interim staff member of any EU institution, body, delegation or representative office.
